State and local election officials say they want voters to know that those without a photo ID still have a right to cast a ballot -- although it will be provisional until they present the newly-required identification.
Wisconsin Elections Commission administrator Michael Haas and local officials held a news conference Monday at Milwaukee City Hall to remind voters that if they don't have a photo ID they still have time to get a document to vote from the Division of Motor Vehicles. Beginning this week, the DMV will send the photo ID by overnight delivery.
It's the first presidential election in Wisconsin where voters will be required to show photo IDs at the polls.
Haas says the photo ID doesn't have to have a current address and the name doesn't have to exactly match the name on the poll list.
