An eight-year-old girl has died after an ATV crash in Marinette County Sunday evening.
Rebekah Chapman, of rural Niagara, was riding on an ATV driven by a seven-year-old girl in the Town of Niagara when they hit a tree, the Marinette County Sheriff's Office said. Chapman was thrown from the ATV and seriously injured.
She later died at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The seven-year-old driver was not hurt.
Neither girl was wearing a helmet or protective gear.
The crash happened off of Panis Road in the Town of Niagara just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday. It is still under investigation.
