An eagle was released Wednesday to celebrate a successful fundraiser for an expansion project at Green Bay's Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
The $3 million goal was reached after a $750,000 donation from Dick Resch, according to Mike Reed, director of the sanctuary.
“We thought, ‘No better way to celebrate [than]with the release of a magnificent bird like an eagle,’” Reed said.
The money will go toward expanding the facility’s nature center, to increase capacity for the popular nature-based kindergarten for four year olds, Reed said.
