Dozens of people and members of law enforcement all came to Fond Du Lac to show that men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty won't ever be forgotten.
It's a day people from different communities and law enforcement all come together, but for the Fond Du Lac community, today really struck a chord.
"We honor officers that have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, so here in Fond Du Lac, we have three officers that were killed in the line of duty in the last several years," said Paul Pfeffer, Lead Chaplain, Fond Du Lac Police Department.
One of those was Trooper Trevor Casper, who died his first day on the job. A bank robber shot him.
Lyle Pitzen is Casper's great uncle. He says this memorial is his way of sharing Trooper Casper's story.
"It feels really good to hear because a lot of people didn't know him, it being the first day on the job when he was killed," said Pitzen.
Nick Klaske was also honored. A burglar shot and killed him in 1961. Klaske's son, Dennis was just 6 years old.
"I come here every once in a while, when I'm feeling down, and i just talk to my dad," said Klaske.

It was a day all different communities and families making the ultimate sacrifice.
"They lay their life on the line every day, and this is a way good way to show honor," said Pitzen
