Over the past few weeks, the Door County Sheriff's Department has received complaints from local business owners that money has been stolen from roadside cash boxes.
Targeted businesses include those that sell wares such as wood, crafts, vegetables and fruit.
The suspects have been known to leave their vehicles parked farther away from the businesses and then walk up to them to steal the money.
Some of the businesses have surveillance cameras installed, but the suspects have kept their faces hidden to avoid detection.
Authorities are advising businesses to take money out of the cash boxes frequently to help combat this type of crime.
Please call the Door County Sheriff's Department at 920-746-2428 and ask to speak with Inv. Sgt. Connie Schuster if you have any information.
