MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Police say a dog was thrown from a car as the driver was doing doughnuts in Madison.
A 54-year-old man was supposed to be walking his friend's dog, Cheddar, on Wednesday evening. Instead, the man put Cheddar in his friend's 2003 Ford Interceptor and was doing doughnuts in a parking lot. Cheddar was thrown out the window before the Interceptor hit another car.
The man regained control of the Interceptor and drove away. He alerted Cheddar's owner about the incident via a text, saying he was sick with worry about the dog.
Cheddar's owner drove to the scene and found the dog. Police said Cheddar had a bloody mouth and a possibly injured leg.
Officers found the man at Cheddar's owner's house and arrested him.
