The DNR and National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for Sunday, April 29th.
Vernon, La Crosse, Trempealeau, Buffalo, Pepin, Dunn, Pierce, St. Croix, Polk and Burnett counties all fall under the warning.
The DNR says warm temperatures, low humidity, high winds and exceptionally dry fuels are anticipated and can result in catastrophic fires.
The DNR is prohibiting all burning.
The public is asked to be careful with any activity that could potentially lead to a wildfire.
Officials said campfires, ashes from fireplaces, outdoor grills, smoking, chainsaws, off-road vehicles or other small engines have the potential to ignite a fire and spread quickly under these conditions.
