An NBC26 Diaper Drive on Monday, March 6 to help replace diapers stolen from the United Way Fox Cities is wrapped up, and we're thankful for all the donations!

Sometime between January 3 and February 13, 100,000 donated diapers were stolen from the Fox Cities Diaper Bank.

Since then, the Fox Cities Diaper Bank has received a donation of 100,000 diapers from Kimberly-Clark through the Huggies "No Baby Unhugged" program, and an additional 100,000 from Amazon.

Huggies is also partnering with NBC26 and will match up to 50,000 donated diapers in the NBC26 Diaper Drive.

"You can't get diapers on food stamps, or WIC. It's not a nutritional product," says Aric Melzl, of the Kimberly-Clark Huggies "No Baby Unhugged" program, "so, it is actually a basic need for families, and it's really not covered under a lot of the different programs."

Shopko is also donating $1,000.

"So, we're giving [the Diaper Bank] $1,000, and we hope that it makes a big impact on the diapers that went missing," says Michelle Hansen of the Shopko Foundation.

United Way Fox Cities leaders say they've easily more than doubled the amount of diapers stolen through donations since last week.

"I've had people stopping in our offices, and dropping off diapers," says Nanci Micke, of United Way Fox Cities. "I had one mom who came in and brought diapers, and said 'I'm having my parents send you a check from Minnesota.' We've received checks in the mail, we've hear from companies that are doing diaper drives for us."

Micke says United Way will soon call on volunteers from the community to help repack and sort all the donated diapers.
