Demonstrators Gather in Green Bay Protesting the President's Executive Order on Immigrants

Posted
Nearly three dozen people took to the streets of Green Bay on Sunday to make their voices heard after President Donald Trump puts a temporary ban on immigrants from seven countries with Muslim ties.

Many protest took place over the weekend at airports across the United States, but demonstrators said they wanted to be in a more visible location instead of Austin Straubel International Airport.

In the end protesters chose to stand on the corner of Webster and East Mason streets near Baird Place on Green Bay's east side.

"It is important that we get together on this because this is a whole nation of immigrants and we really ought to represent our opinion to the President and I do believe he will listen," said event organizer, Denise Sweet.

Demonstrators say they wanted to do something to show their disagreement with the President's executive order.
