Earlier today, leaders with Marinette Marine, Oshkosh Defense, and the Department of Defense met with manufacturers from across Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
The small business owners learned about how government contracting works as well as upcoming opportunities to get involved.
Senator Baldwin's office and the Wisconsin Procurement Institute worked together to put on this unique networking event.
"This really provides an opportunity for some businesses to find out about the process to get a foot in the door. For others who are more experienced, this is to develop their contacts and maybe get more business," Bill Hughes explained.
Department of Defense leaders say they are currently working with 220 suppliers in Wisconsin.
