UPDATE: An autopsy was performed on February 14 at the UW Hospital in Madison. The autopsy revealed no signs of trauma or other unusual circumstances. The investigation will remain active pending toxicology results, which are expected in 4 – 6 weeks.
Police responded to a medical call at 2:43 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Marathon Ave. of a 2-year-old boy who was unresponsive. The boy was not breathing and did not have a pulse.
The boy was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
