De Pere's City Hall is going green. The Common Council voted unanimously to install a green roof over City Hall. The plant covered roof will be installed by Trees on the Move, and will cost the city about a quarter of a million dollars. The pay back is a longer lasting roof with better insulation and energy savings, plus less water runoff. The money for the project was already in the budget.
The city of De Pere will be getting a new environmentally friendly roof for their City Hall.
