Tonight officers from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department teamed up with Cellcom and Fox Valley Technical College to help teach parent about the dangers of social media. Parents were encouraged to not only bring their children, but to bring their smart devices along as well. The group walked through the maze of apps that are available, and the officers educated them about the risks involved in using them. They stressed the importance of knowing where your child is going online, and having open communication.
