UPDATE: A car driven by Ronald J. Burkhart, a 24-year-old Green Bay man, drove through the intersection of Cormier Road eastbound at South Broadway Street sometime in the overnight hours of January 8th into the 9th.
The vehicle struck a train in the National Railroad Museum where Burkhart was ejected and died at the scene.
A passerby noticed the crash at 5:25 a.m. and notified authorities.
The investigation remains active with the assistance of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

UPDATE (11:09 a.m.) -- The scene at Broadway Street and Cormier Road by the National Railroad Museum has been cleared and traffic is back to normal.
The Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety continues to investigate this crash with the assistance of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department Reconstruction Unit and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Notification of next of kin is not complete so information on the identity of the deceased is not yet available for release.

UPDATE (7:26 a.m.) -- Ashwaubenon Public Safety confirms one person was killed in a crash near the National Railroad Museum.
Officers were called to the intersection of Cormier Road and South Broadway Street around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
Officials say it appears the vehicle went eastbound off of Cormier Road crossing South Broadway Street into the National Railroad Museum property striking a train.
The Brown County Sheriff's Department will help reconstruct the scene to investigate the cause.
The identity of the victim has not been identified pending the notification of family.
Officials say Cormier Road and Broadway Street are expected to remain closed for several hours while they reconstruct the scene.
