Thousands of people are enjoyed Celebrate De Pere this weekend and one of the biggest draws this year was country music star Kellie Pickler.
Pickler is known for her run on American Idol back in 2005. That's where the country star truly got her start, but since then, she's put out four albums, won a dancing competition, and she now co-hosts her own show.
Pickler says she's honored to play here in Northeast Wisconsin this Memorial Day Weekend, especially considering the millions of dollars that are have raised over the years for local veteran groups.
"I think it is just important for our military men, women, their families, our veterans; it’s so important for them to know that we don't take what they do for granted. And that we are very thankful and we're grateful for the sacrifices that they make every day,” said Kellie Pickler.
