Police have confirmed sightings of a cougar in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
According to police, the animal was spotted around 3 a.m. Friday in the vicinity of Hillside Cemetary walking north.
The Wisconsin DNR is telling people to keep your distance if you see a cougar and to report sightings immediately to your police department.
There have been several other alleged sightings by nearby residents in the area.
Police are advising people to keep their garage doors closed. They said pets shouldn't be outdoors without supervision.
They add, according to research, attacks on humans by this animal is rare unless it is cornered or feels threatened.
Police said please don't attempt to approach or capture this animal.
