The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) said an additional 621 people have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Sunday afternoon. This comes a day after a single-day record of 1,165 new cases recorded.

The state's total of people who tested positive for coronavirus has surpassed 60,500 as of Sunday. The U.S. has seen over 5 million positive cases, as reported by the Associated Press Sunday morning.

The DHS said over 9,600 cases are still active across Wisconsin.

According to the Department, a little over 82% of people who originally tested positive are now marked "recovered" from the virus.

State health officials said 5,000 or approximately 8% of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 have been hospitalized. This is an increase of 20 people since Saturday afternoon.

Wisconsin saw an increase of two deaths since Saturday, bringing the state total to 998 people who have died in relation to COVID-19. The DHS said this is 1.6% of people who tested positive.
