Wisconsin saw 946 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths Saturday

Saturday, Wisconsin health officials confirmed 946 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 80,300 people who have tested positive for the virus.

The state Department of Health Services (DHS) said 11.8% of 8,021 tests returned positive Saturday afternoon. This is lower than the previous day by one whole percentage point.

The recovery rate in Wisconsin is at 88.6% with an estimated 7,961 cases still active across the state.

Health officials said 15 more deaths have been linked to coronavirus, bringing the state total to 1,168 deaths.

Hospitalizations is now at 6,048 people or 7.5% of positive virus cases. This is an increase of 50 since Friday.

DHS along with Brown County Public Health staff remind everyone to stay safe this Labor Day weekend by limiting gatherings, continuing to social distance, wearing masks even when outdoors, and sanitizing both hands and surfaces frequently.
