Wisconsin health officials said 59 more people have died in relation to COVID-19, bringing the state total to 2,031 deaths as of Saturday.

The state Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 5,278 tests returned positive for COVID-19 out of almost 15,000 tests. This is the fourth day in a row over 5,000 daily coronavirus tests have returned positive.

About 78% of people have been marked as recovered from the virus, according to the DHS. An estimated 48,208 cases remain active across the state.

Hospitalizations increased by 229 for a total of 11,374 people ever hospitalized by the virus.

Friday, Gov. Tony Evers said despite the climbing coronavirus numbers, local clerks and poll workers are prepared to handle voters on election day.
