Wisconsin reports decrease in recorded active cases

WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — Sunday, the state Department of Health Services (DHS) reported a decrease in recorded active cases.

An estimated 36,736 cases remain active across the state, which is 1,615 less than Saturday and over 2,000 less than Friday.

Wisconsin health officials said 91% of people who previously tested positive have since recovered.

A day after 84 deaths were reported in Wisconsin, 18 more deaths were counted. There has been 4,417 deaths connected to COVID-19 in Wisconsin since the start of the pandemic.

Hospitalizations increased by 68, bringing the state total to 20,120 people to ever be hospitalized with the virus.
