Wisconsin reports 981 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin saw a jump in new coronavirus numbers Tuesday.

There were more than 10,000 coronavirus tests reported Tuesday, compared to less than 4,000 tests reported the previous day.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 981 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.

New deaths related to coronavirus were also reported on Tuesday. Eight new deaths have now raised the state's death total to 1,130.

Wisconsin now has a total of 76,584 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 88.7% of those cases since recovered. There are now 7,534 active cases of coronavirus in the state.
