Wisconsin reports 870 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin reported 870 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, which is up from Tuesday's numbers.

It comes one day after Chicago officials added Wisconsin to its Emergency Travel Order, making it one of the twenty-two states on the growing list.

Wisconsin now has a total of 51,049 confirmed coronavirus cases in the state, with 79% of those cases listed as recovered. There are 9,704 active cases in the state.

Five more deaths were reported Wednesday, leaving the death total at 911 in Wisconsin.

The percent positive rate, the rate of tests returning a positive result, was only up slightly on Wednesday to 5.9%. 13,824 coronavirus tests in Wisconsin came back negative.
