MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin has once again broken its record for daily new cases of COVID-19.
The state Department of Health Services reported 7,073 new cases of coronavirus Tuesday, just passing the previous record set three days ago. The state saw a percent positive rate of 35%.
The number of people ever hospitalized due to COVID-19 surpassed 13,000 on Tuesday. The number, 13,230, was an increase of 291.
The death toll also rose to 2,395 Tuesday, an increase of 66.
Wisconsin now has 278,843 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 61,944 of those cases currently listed as active.
Gov. Tony Evers plans to address the state Tuesday night regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin.
