Wisconsin reports 671 positive COVID-19 tests, 2 deaths

WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — Sunday, health officials said an estimated 164,000 people in Wisconsin completed their series of COVID-19 vaccination shots.

According to the state Department of Health Services (DHS), over 296,000 Wisconsinites age 65 or older have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The DHS reported 671 out of 4,527 COVID-19 tests returned positive, adding to the estimated 15,369 active cases in Wisconsin.

The DHS said the seven-day average for positive cases by person is 17.8% as of Saturday's numbers, which is lower than the previous several days. This percentage only includes each person once across the duration of the pandemic, no matter how many times an individual gets tested.

Two deaths were recorded for a total of 6,054 people to have died in relation to the novel coronavirus.

Hospitalizations increased by 61, bringing the state total to 24,885 people to ever be hospitalized with the virus.
