Wisconsin reports 404 new COVID-19 cases Monday

MADISON (NBC 26) -- While the weekend numbers were high, Wisconsin reported a lower number of new coronavirus cases Monday.

New data from the Department of Health Services show 404 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. More than 900 cases were reported Sunday and more than 1,000 cases were reported Saturday, when Gov. Tony Evers' new face covering mandate took effect.

The number of new coronavirus cases hasn't been in the 400 range since mid-July.

The number of deaths was also low on Monday. Only one new death was reported by the state.

There is now a total of 55,328 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wisconsin. 80% of those cases have recovered. There are currently 9,866 active coronavirus cases in Wisconsin.
