MADISON (NBC 26) -- Following a delay in reporting over the weekend, Wisconsin health officials reported 4,591 new cases of COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday.
Wisconsin DHS says this count reflects some of the backlog in positive cases that accumulated during the weekend upgrade of the system.
"For a more accurate representation of COVID-19 in Wisconsin over the course of this upgrade, we recommend looking at the 7-day rolling averages," DHS said in a statement on its social media.
The seven day average for Tuesday was 3,287.
Wisconsin DHS also reported 33 new deaths on Tuesday related to coronavirus.
