Wisconsin reports 2,757 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths

WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — Wisconsin health officials reported 2,757 new cases of COVID-19 out of 12,175 tests that returned Sunday afternoon.

According to the state Department of Health Services (DHS), the seven-day average for positive cases by person is now 27.8% which continues the downward trend that started December 3. This percentage only includes each person once across the duration of the pandemic, no matter how many times an individual gets tested.

The DHS estimates a little less than 46,000 cases are still active across the state. A total of 386,655 people in Wisconsin have since been marked as recovered from the virus.

Another 15 deaths were reported for a total of 4,056 people to have died from the disease.

Hospitalizations increased by 87, bringing the state total to 19,249 people ever hospitalized with COVID-19.
