MADISON (NBC 26) -- As the number of new coronavirus cases in Wisconsin continue to climb, the percentage of people recovering from those cases continues to drop.
Monday, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 1,956 new cases of coronavirus. This brings the state total to 152,192 total confirmed cases.
There are currently 29,478 active cases of coronavirus in Wisconsin as of Monday afternoon.
The percentage of those cases that have recovered dropped just below 80% Monday. The rate is now officially 79.7%.
Nine more deaths were reported Monday, bringing the total to 1,474.
Wisconsin has seen a spike in cases in recent months, and has been one of the top five states in the country for new cases per capita, according to the Associated Press.
