Wisconsin reports 1,792 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday

MADISON (NBC 26) -- The number of new coronavirus cases continues to climb in Wisconsin.

The state Department of Health Services reported 1,762 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. The state now has 105,932 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 15,262 cases currently active in Wisconsin. The recovery rate dropped Wednesday to 84%.

The state reported eight more deaths related to coronavirus on Wednesday, raising the death total to 1,259.

The percent of tests returning a positive result remain relatively unchanged from yesterday at 13.1%. The rate had currently reached record highs at the beginning of the week.
