Wisconsin records less than 500 new coronavirus cases Monday

MADISON (NBC 26) -- For the first time in nearly a week, the number of new coronavirus cases was less than 500 in Wisconsin.

New data released Monday by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services recorded 484 new cases of COVID-19. The rate of positive test results for the virus was also down from previous days to 9.2%.

There was a total of 32,061 positive cases in Wisconsin, but DHS data shows 79% had recovered as of Monday with 6,018 cases currently active in Wisconsin.

On Monday, DHS numbers show 11.2% of people with coronavirus in Wisconsin have been hospitalized.

There were no new deaths reported Monday by Wisconsin DHS. While a total of 796 people in Wisconsin have died from the virus, that death toll has remained unchanged for three days.
