MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin has now confirmed more than 40,000 cases of coronavirus in the state.
According to new numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health services, 40,507 total cases in the state was reported Friday, an increase of 880 cases.
Of the more than 40,000 cases, 77% of them are labeled as "recovered". There are currently 8,411 active cases in Wisconsin.
The number of hospitalizations also went up Friday. About 4,031 people in Wisconsin have been hospitalized due to the virus.
Two more deaths related to coronavirus were reported Friday, leaving the total number at 833.
