Gov. Tony Evers announced this week the launch of an app called WI Exposure Notification.

The goal is for the new mobile app to assist in notifying contacts, allowing close contacts of those with a positive COVID test to take quicker action. It will go live for Wisconsinites next week; the governor had this to say on the app:

“This app is another resource available to us and will help notify Wisconsinites faster if they come into contact with somebody who has tested positive for COVID-19,” said Gov. Tony Evers. “The app uses Bluetooth technology to anonymously share Bluetooth signals with other nearby smartphones using the app.”

The WI Exposure Notification app will launch Dec. 23. DHS encourages all Wisconsinites to follow the directions from the notification which will be sent to smartphones to ensure the app is downloaded and/or enabled.
