Wisconsin health officials report 843 new cases of COVID-19

MADISON (NBC 26) -- The percent positive rate, the rate of coronavirus tests returning a positive result, has been steadily climbing in Wisconsin for the past three days.

Data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services show the rate has gone from 6.4% on Tuesday to 9.2% by Friday.

843 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Wisconsin Friday, along with 8,313 negative test results.

Two more people have died in the state due to coronavirus, raising the death total to 1,113 in Wisconsin.

There are now 73,981 confirmed cases in Wisconsin, with 7,585 of those cases listed as currently active. The percentage of those recovered from coronavirus remains at 88%.

The total number of people who have been hospitalized due to coronavirus is now at 5,736, an increase of 52.
