MADISON (NBC 26) — Wisconsin's number of COVID-19 vaccine allocation rose past the million mark on Wednesday, according to new numbers from the state's Department of Health Services (DHS).

DHS reports Wisconsin has allocated more than 1.1 million COVID-19 vaccine and administered nearly 823,000 vaccines across the state.

It comes as new cases reported in the state remain relatively low. While Wednesday's number of new coronavirus cases, 821, were higher than the day prior, it still marks the fifth day in a row that the number of new cases in the state were under 1,000. It's part of an overall trend that has been moving downward since November.

Additionally, the percentage of cases listed as recovered continues to slowly climb, now at 96.6% as of Wednesday.

On the other hand, the number of people dying from COVID-19 increased by 35 on Wednesday, bringing the state's death toll to 6,129. The seven day average of deaths reported in the state due to coronavirus increased to 25.
