Wisconsin's latest update on coronavirus in the state shows high number of tests

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin reported 728 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, an increase from the number of reported cases Monday.

The number of tests shot up on Tuesday. 17,410 negative tests were reported by Wisconsin DHS. Tuesday's test numbers were the highest reported in at least two weeks.

There is now a total of 56,056 cases of coronavirus in the state, with 9,709 cases currently listed as active. The state also reported 12 new deaths related to coronavirus on Tuesday, leaving a total of 961.

The percentage of recovery continues to climb. The percent of cases listed as recovered is now at 81%.
