Third day in a row COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin break records

State health officials said Saturday is the third day in a row that Wisconsin has broken the record for COVID-19 cases confirmed in a day. This comes a week after the Fourth of July.

Of the 12,019 test results reported Saturday, 926 tests came back positive. This brings the state total to 35,679 people who have tested positive for coronavirus.

Along with cases in Wisconsin, the percentage of those who test positive have gone up as well. Friday saw 6.6% while Saturday has 7.7% of people testing positive.

Health officials said 31 more people have been hospitalized. Statewide, seven more have died due to the virus, bringing the total to 821.
