A local packaging manufacturer has stepped up to fill the increasing need for personal protective equipment (PPE) due to the pandemic.
Novolex in Shawano is now mass producing isolation gowns for hospitals.
Engineers at the company pieced together machinery which normally made tortilla birdseed and ice melt bags to produce the gowns.
The company says all the PPE produced is currently being shipped to New Hampshire, California, New York, Texas and Georgia to epicenters of COVID-19’s outbreak.
