MADISON (NBC 26) — For the first time in months, the seven day average of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin dips below 1,000.
On Tuesday, Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 681 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, the fourth day in a row that the number of new cases were below 1,000. The seven day average was 970.
While the number of new cases appears to be heading downward, the number of people ever hospitalized continues to climb, passing the 25,000 mark on Tuesday.
The death total also increased by 39, bringing the state's total to 6,094.
