Wisconsin health officials reported 1,665 new COVID-19 cases Sunday. That's fewer cases than we've seen the last few days, however they showed an increase in the percentage of tests returning positive.

The state Department of Health Services (DHS) said 20% of 8,320 coronavirus tests returned positive. This is the highest positive testing percentage in a week; up about 2 percent from Saturday.

Health officials said there was a small decrease in the percentage of recovered cases, but is still around 85%. Active cases rose to 14,143 people across Wisconsin.

One death related to the virus was added, bringing the state total to 1,242 people since the pandemic began.

The DHS said another 34 people with the virus were hospitalized, accounting for a total of 6,653 people ever hospitalized from the virus. This number adds up to 6.6% of total cases.
