Over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin, 13 deaths reported

WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — 1,062 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by state health officials Saturday afternoon, bringing Wisconsin's total to over 54,000 people who have tested positive for the virus.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) said 7.1% of their almost 15,000 tests came back positive. These numbers are in increase from Friday's, both for new case numbers and percentage of positive tests.

The Department also said 44 additional people were hospitalized in relation to the virus. This means 8.7% of people in Wisconsin who tested positive have been hospitalized.

The DHS reported 13 more deaths, bringing the state total to 947 people who have died in relation to the virus.

The percentage of people who are marked as recovered from coronavirus remains around 80%. There are not 9,753 active cases across the state.
