OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- A local humane society is looking to help hungry pets during this pandemic.

A spokesperson for the Oshkosh Humane Society says they understand this is a difficult time financially for many people, and they don't want them to feel like they have to surrender their pet because of a lack of funds.

Those in need can now get a 30 day supply of food through a hands-free service.

"I wish I could see the smiles on their faces, but so far I think it's been just the gratitude and the expression of relief that I'm hearing from people when they call on the phone," volunteer coordinator Stephanie Strzalka said. "They have these needs and, you know, some of them are in tears that we are able to help them and keep their pets in their houses with their family."

They are offering hands-free delivery through May 26 for people in Oshkosh who can not make it to the shelter.

If you are in the Oshkosh area, you can arrange for pickup or delivery by calling (920) 424-2128.
