Manitowoc County confirmed its 5th positive case of coronavirus (COVID-19) Wednesday with 188 negative test results as of Wednesday afternoon.
According to a news release sent out by Manitowoc County's Emergency Services Director Travis Waack, county officials are not releasing if this case was community spread or any other details on the patient for their privacy.
Community spread was previously declared in the County on April 7th.
Additionally, Manitowoc County is closing all campgrounds to stop the spread of the virus. Manitowoc County Health Officer, Mary Halada, issued a supplemental order closing all campgrounds in the County for camping effective May 1st, 2020.
According to a health order from the county, camping is not an essential activity. The order also states camping in Manitowoc County encourages non-essential travel and large gatherings of people.
As of Wednesday, 182 people had died from COVID-19 in Wisconsin and there were more than 3,700 confirmed cases, according to the state Department of Health Services.
