MARINETTE COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Marinette County Public Health confirmed Thursday it has its first confirmed case of coronavirus.

The person with COVID-19 had contact with a confirmed case in another county, public health officials say. Marinette County Public Health said it is working hard to identify who this resident may have come into close contact with.

This comes after the number of positive coronavirus cases in Wisconsin rose to 707 in a report earlier in the day. 11,583 cases have come back negative. There have been 10 reported deaths.

The U.S. now leads the world in number of coronavirus cases, surpassing China.
