As of Monday, March 16, there have been 47 confirmed coronavirus cases in Wisconsin. One person who had a positive coronavirus case has since recovered.
According to the Department of Health Services, the numbers of positive cases has grown from over the weekend.

Gov. Tony Evers ordered a ban on mass gatherings of 50 or more people on Monday. Evers said the ban is for everyone to "practice social distancing and take every step possible to mitigate the spread of COVID-19."
The ban will not affect "critical infrastructure and services" such as grocery stores, food pantries, childcare centers, pharmacies and hospitals.

Health officials also reiterated that residents should take simple steps to help prevent the spread of coronavirus:
- Frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and water.
- Covering coughs and sneezes.
- Avoiding touching your face.
- Staying home when sick.
