APPLETON (NBC 26) -- A second death related to coronavirus has been reported in Appleton. The city announced the death in a news release Wednesday.
Appleton Health Department received notice Wednesday of an Appleton resident, in their 70’s, dying of COVID-19.
On Wednesday, the city said its health department also learned of another person testing positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 57, which the city says is 5.3% of all tests.
The city says there are currently 34 residents in isolation and 20 residents who had COVID-19 have been released from isolation.
The most recent case of coronavirus lives in the Calumet County portion of the city. The case is the result of community spread. The resident is in isolation.
Appleton's Health Department continues to investigate these cases.
