After breaking records last week, coronavirus numbers down Monday in Wisconsin

MADISON (NBC 26) -- After breaking records last week, the latest data on coronavirus in Wisconsin starts this week off on the lower end.

Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 590 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, the lowest number of new cases in the past 14 days. The daily percent positive rate also dropped from 9.6% on Sunday to 8.5% on Monday.

The number of negative tests was also down significantly. Only 6,356 negative test results were reported.

One new death related to coronavirus was reported Monday.

Wisconsin now has 49,417 cases of COVID-19, with 78% of those cases marked as recovered. There are 9,873 active cases of coronavirus currently in Wisconsin.
