It was an unthinkable tragedy that shook the Wausau area.
Now, the community is trying to heal in the wake of that shooting spree that left four innocent people, and the alleged shooter, dead.
To help the community heal, local law enforcement decided it would provide a resource for everyone still processing the losses on Thursday evening.
Community leaders and counselors will be at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau to offer insight and an ear to listen to community members.
"Those individuals that are really still struggling and trying to figure out why and trying to understand or process the grieving process, and if they're struggling or if they want to show support this would be a great event," said Chief Jeffrey Hardel with the City of Wausau Police Department.
The community healing event begins at 7 p.m. at Northcentral Technical College, with the main topic being how a community can cope after tragedy.
