Community fights to keep sex offender out

Posted

Approximately 100 people met at Erin City Hall to voice their concerns about protecting their children and community.

Court documents call Olson a child sexual predator and a psychiatric evaluation from 2002 found there's a high chance of him assaulting more children.

The 61-year-old served his sentence and has been living in a secure treatment facility in Juneau County since 2003.

The Department of Health Services is looking for a place for Olson to live on supervised release.

Currently, the state is looking at a home on Terry Road, about half a mile from Erin School.

The home meets the legal requirements.
