Community members in the Town of Eldoardo continue fighting to keep a convicted sex offender out of their neighborhood.
Thursday, a bus transported concerned neighbors to a court hearing in Washington County.
According to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney, the judge has ordered the Department Of Health Services to reevaluate places where the sex offender can live in Washington County.
If those places do not meet requirements, the judge would then look at placing the sex offender in Fond du Lac County.
“The judge was, I think, very thoughtful and considerate in allowing us to speak in the courtroom today, and I appreciated the judge reevaluating 980 and looking at some of the notice requirements,” said Eric Toney, Fond du Lac County District Attorney.
The district attorney also added, the judge will look at Eldoardo ordinances specifically.
