Committee votes down dog proposal

There's still hope for Appleton dog owners.

This, despite the vote from the Parks and Recreation Committee that rejected a proposal to allow dogs in city parks.

Appleton currently bans all dogs from city parks. Supporters of the proposal say the current ban is too restrictive, and discriminates against dog owners. Those in favor of the current rule say they have concerns over unleashed dogs, and waste.

The proposal moves to Common Council for review next week, where additional options will be considered.
